Interesting fact: The Jews are an earthly people, promised an earthly inheritance, who warred an earthly and physical warfare. The church, however, is a spiritual people looking for a heavenly inheritance who fight a spiritual warfare (2 Corinthians 10:3-4; Ephesians 6:12). Failure to understand these basic truths has been the foundational error of a whole host of cults, schisms, and whole religions.
Bible study tip: Pay attention to peculiar wording in scripture. The wording of scripture serves to draw attention to a particular truth. Consider the wording of 1 John 1:10 – “If we say that we have not sinned, we make him [Jesus Christ] a liar.” Is it truly possible to make Jesus Christ a liar? No! This reminds us of the truth taught in Romans 3:4, “let God be true, but every man a liar.”

Day 337: Church Day
Psalm 27:2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
